Quick, and funny You Need More Sleep: Advice From Cats is a great book to pick up for a good laugh! This book is well written and hilarious. Many of the "Advice" seemed as if they came from real experience, especially a mention of the family china being tossed from the table. Filled with jems such as "Always Stay at least 30 Feet From a Loved One" and "Just Because Others Can't See It Doesn't Mean You Shouldn't Chase it' this book is guaranteed to to make any cat lover, or hater, laugh out loud. All in all a great read, and well recommended by this reviewer!

A must-have Cat Sized Book filled with scrumptious humor.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for a cat lover who owns (and loves) books by Francesco Marciuliano.
I couldn't help but read a few pages when it arrived (just to check to see all was alright) and it's hilarious. I was almost tempted to keep it myself. It's on the small side (5x6 inches) which you could say is purrrfectly "cat sized" for a book filled with oodles of cat advice for the world and cuter than heck pics of cats.
If you know cat people, get them this book. It's a gem!

Not sure why someone hasn't written a book like this before.
Cats have it made! Humans feed them, house them, buy them treats & toys and even clean their litter boxes! So it makes sense that they would have the best advice on how to live life to the fullest. Advice tidbits are funny and clever. Cat fans will recognize their own feline friends in these entries. This isn't poetry, but those who have the previous poetry books will enjoy having this in their collection. Its a great gift for cat fans, teacher gifts and stocking stuffers. Stock up!

Although there would be some difficulty in using this book in the US, some drugs do not share exact trade and official names, the problem would be minimal as even those drugs named differently are done so very subtly. The book is laid out in an intelligent and very usable fashion, first looking at major drug groups it then focuses on a drug directory and drug finder, obviously needs to bought regularly in this ever changing market,

but retailing at £6-7 (about $4-5) it will hardly break the bank and the investment is sound reassurance in prescription.

Mixed Feelings

If you've been listening to sermons since you were in the womb, this book might not be overly enlightening, but the authors do have a knack for refreshing conversation. If bible-reading is new to you, or if you've put off reading it for a long time, the book can be very enlightening and the refreshing tone makes it a very easy read.

The authors highlight themes throughout the bible that might be brand new concepts to some readers. For instance, in describing a parallel between Joseph and Jesus, they point out that Joseph was condemned (after that Mrs. Potiphar incident) with two criminals. To one of these, Joseph spoke life. The other, died. Similarly, while on the cross, Jesus promised life to another while another chose death.

The book is divided into 6 segments:
Jesus Storyline
Covenant Storyline
Presence Storyline
Kingdom Storyline
Salvation Storyline
Worship Storyline

These storylines reveal God's sovereign plan of salvation, foreshadowed for centuries. Parallel after parallel is shared to convince readers that our salvation wasn't an afterthought; God planned it from the beginning. He always thought we were going to be worth it.

The book also has two appendices. Appendix A shares a synopsis of the Bible in 20 pages. Appendix B helps readers learn "What, Why, and How of the Bible."

The audience makes all the difference with this book. The conversational tone will be very refreshing to those wanting to discover or renew a love for God's Word. To another audience it could also be seen as irreverent. Each chapter focuses on scripture, refers to scripture, and ends with a paperchase leading readers to explore scripture more deeply. Dotted throughout are personal anecdotes and observations that can put some readers at ease while irritating others.

In all honesty, I was in the irritated camp. Some beautiful, holy truths were shared in an almost flippant tone at times. Please understand, I'm a pentecostal gal that fully believes in freedom in worship and a very personal relationship with God. But I still felt uncomfortable with some of it. It wasn't that it went against scripture, it's just that there were times when it seemed to lack an awe of the holiness of God.

From the back of the book: "C'mon, admit it: You haven't been reading your Bible. It's so...long. Honestly, it's intimidating. What you need is an overview. Something that will pull it all together."

If you're in the irritated camp, do you see what I mean?

That said, it is a book I am excited to be able to share with young Christians. It really is a book about discovery and realizing the love story God has been writing to us all along. It's also quite educational, tackling Christian-speak in an easy-to-follow manner. If this is a new idea to you, or if you've lost your enthusiasm, I think this is an excellent book that has a lot to offer.

Refreshing Review of the Bible

Storylines is a refreshing look at the Bible and the story of God's love that weaves it's way through from beginning to end. Andy and Mike explain the Bible in an overview of six stories. Their humor was fun and enjoyable and made the book feel like a relaxing conversation with friends. I appreciated the fresh look at what these six story lines mean to us here and now and how these two men use examples we can relate to in order to make it come alive in our own minds.

I would have rated this book with five stars if it hadn't been for one red flag on page 23 where it reads as if baptism plays a part in our actual salvation. It is only one sentence, but still I believe one needs to exercise discernment in reading and hence I will recommend this book but with this caution. However, the rest of the book is wonderful and gives many examples that make the Bible come to life. In fact, I also have marked several pages that grabbed my attention and helped clarify in my mind a Biblical truth.

This book is frank on matters and because of that I recommend this to only adults and older teens. While it's directness is not meant for younger readers, it will most likely help you understand the Bible in ways you have not before. Storylines is a cool glass of lemonade on a warm summer day!

Mind over matter, wonderfully written

First of all the writing is wonderful, as is the case with all Kfir's books. And secondly, my state of mind is so at peace because of Kfir Luzzatto's DO IT WITH WORDS: REGROW YOUR HAIR WITH YOUR MIND. His is not the first to speak of mind over matter and show by example and through referencing the work of other doctors who specialize in a thoughtful, disciplined, hypnotic self mastery, but he presents it so logically. It's been maybe two months since I began to rediscover this meditative discipline, thank you Kfir. And the other day, my mother noticed that my hair is getting darker. And she is right. Mind over matter. Miracle. Tranquility.

When I first saw the title of this book, I wanted to just blow it off as absolute nonsense. I decided to give it a shot, anyway. It wasn't a total waste of my time.

Kfir has a Ph.D. He is no stranger to doing research, and his book demonstrates this. He has put together a comprehensive approach to using your mind to do great things within the mind-body connection. While the focus is on regrowing hair, or even changing your hair color, he does tell how you can apply these concepts to many different aspects of your life.

He provides a detailed description of how he has gone through this process, as well as an outline to follow should you wish to try this technique on your own. He explains the need to believe in what you are doing and to be careful in how you approach it. He cites many sources, as well as sharing his own experiences.

Within these experiences, he has included photographs of the changes within his own hair. My only wish is that he would have done the two pictures in a similar setting. The picture of his white, balding head looks like it was done outside in the bright sunlight, whereas the one that shows the darker hair growing in was done inside in artificial light. A true comparison would be more effective if both had been one or the other.

Does the program work? I can't vouch for that. I have a head full of hair that is still 97 percent its natural brown. I have never tried guided meditation, nor other procedures discussed in this book, but I have had some experience with what we might call mind power. I have known people who use guided imagery to get them through painful experiences, such as cysts or during chemotherapy. There could be something valid there.

Am I going to try it? Perhaps on some level I will give it a shot. I figure I have nothing to lose.

So, kudos to Kfir for having strong faith in what he is doing. I am impressed by his research and synthesizing of the material into a useful guide. I wish anyone who tries this process a lot of luck.

Mind over Grey Matter

Kfir Luzzatto's Regrow your Hair with your Mind:Do It With Words is a book about the power of the human mind. Nobody can doubt the possibilities of what our minds can accomplish. However, upon reading the title, even I was hesitant about reading it. Because I am a student of mind mapping and the regeneration of the human brain, I leaped. So, of course, I am taking you with me!

Luzzatto has a developed process to his claim of hair regrowth through concentrated mind power, which may or may not be successful for others. He claims success with it, and diligently lays out the plan and purpose of each step. It does involve some self hypnosis and a certain level of commitment, and I dare say, it is not for the faint of heart. You really have to be sold on the process, because like anything that gains a positive result, repeat application is necessary.

More than gaining restored hair color or growth, this seems to me an exercise in mind control. It takes time, dedication to learning, and practice without the promise of the expected result. Even if there is no hair regrowth, the benefit of learning that amount of mind control should be substantial. This alone makes it a worthwhile read.
